El Sr. Lombilla, en el Concejo de Vargas, acusó al Partido Popular de paralizar la nueva carretera de acceso a las Canteras de Vargas. El Alcalde tiene razón. Hemos parado la construcción de esta carretera y, además, nos sentimos muy orgullosos de haberlo hecho. La contaminación que supone la construcción de esta carretera para los vecinos de Vargas ha sido refrendada por la Confederación Hidrográfica del Cantábrico que ha multado a la empresa constructora con 7.529,13€ y obliga a "restituir las cosas a su primitivo estado en el plazo de 15 días".

La situación ecológica tras la realización de esta carretera sin autorización alguna es muy grave para la zona y para los vecinos de Vargas. Las siguientes fotos revelan cual es la devastadora situación en la que se encuentra la zona. En lugar de limpiar el vertedero que existía en la zona, la empresa constructora, simplemente ha tapado los residuos.

Antes de realizar la carretera existía un gran vertedero en la zona.

La carretera que se ha construido sin autorización ha tapado los residuos sin retirarlos. 

Pero en algunas zonas adyacentes a la carretera la contaminación aún puede verse.

 El vertedero afecta a un arroyo que baja hacia el río Pas y está muy cerca de la población.

Estas aguas contaminadas podrían afectar muy negativamente a los vecinos del pueblo.

¿Cómo es posible que el Alcalde nos acuse de ir contra el interés general al denunciar estos hechos? ¿Está el Sr. Lombilla a favor de semejante desastre ecológico? Es mas, ¿por qué el Alcalde no ha denunciado estos hechos como máxima autoridad en el municipio?

Sin embargo, las responsabilidades del Sr. Lombilla no acaban ahí. El propio programa electoral del PRC menciona que "Construiremos un nuevo acceso a las canteras de Vargas para vehículos pesados" pero la carretera no la construye el Ayuntamiento de Puente Viesgo sino la empresa AYP Áridos y Proyectos SL que ha sido multada por la Confederación Hidrográfica del Cantábrico y está a la espera de una posible actuación de la Fiscalía por delito contra el medio ambiente.

¿Es el Sr. Lombilla responsable? ¿Por qué esta carretera que se ha ejecutado sin los correspondientes permisos figura en el programa electoral del PRC? ¿Por qué pese a estar en el programa del PRC no la ejecuta el Ayuntamiento sino una empresa privada? ¿Cómo es posible que el Sr. Lombilla no supiera los problemas ecológicos que existen en la zona o es que los ignoró a propósito? ¿Sr. Lombilla, es ir contra el interés general denunciar estos hechos?
